Social Skills Summer Camp

9-12 year-olds

What is the Social Skills Summer Camp?

Our Social Skills Summer Camp is driven through explorative role play and organic social interactions. We utilize games and activities to encourage communication and problem solving as a group during each session. Our sessions also include discussions to facilitate learning, growth, and reflection on the week's themes and goals.

Who is eligible to enroll in the Social Skills Summer Camp?

Children ages 9 - 12 are eligible for our 2024 Social Skills Summer Camp in August. Children who would benefit from the program include those who may have graduated from our ABA programs, those with light IEP school support, those with nearly average or average communication skills, and those with no injurious aggressive behavior. The following criteria should be met:

  • Not currently enrolled in intensive ABA services

  • No serious aggression resulting in injury towards peers or adults

  • No concern of unsafe elopement (i.e. running out of buildings, hiding from adults)

  • Near typical age ranges for expressive communication and listener skills

  • 9-12 years of age

What will my child learn during the camps?

Children will learn skills related to trading information, choosing good friends, using humor, and starting/joining conversations. Parents will receive weekly guides on the targets and get updates on their child's progress throughout the program.

How much do the camps cost

In most cases, the cost of the camp can be covered by your insurance plan or ForwardHealth. Copays and deductibles may apply, depending on your plan.
